L’oboista Marika Lombardi è una delle soliste del suo strumento più interessanti del panorama musicale, da sempre impegnata nell’allargamento del repertorio e nell’esplorazione di nuove tecniche esecutive ed improvvisative. Questa registrazione è una ristampa e rimasterizzazione di un lavoro colossale svolto una ventina d’anni fà con cui Lombardi esplora secoli di musica del suo strumento sia con composzioni originali sia con ardite trascrizioni. Di fatto si tratta di un viaggio nel tempo che da Bach e Telemann passa a Britten fino a compositori meno noti come Jalava, Kunc e Sibbing. Questi due CD non solo sono un’interessante panorama della musica per oboe solo ma compongono una vera e propria esperienza d’ascolto guidata dal suadente suono dell’oboe nella sua beata solitudine affidato alla incredibile maestria di Marika Lombardi.

The oboist Marika Lombardi is one of the most interesting musicians on this instrument, exploring new repertoire and possibilities and enlarging the improvisations skills of the oboe. This recording is a reprint and remaster of a colossal work presented at beginning of her career more then 20 years ago, a real “time journey” in the solo oboe literature with some astonishing solo versions of Telemann and Bach until to modern compositions by Britten as well as less known composers as: Kunc, Sibbing and Jalava among the others. The 2 Cds are not only an interesting overview on the repertoire of the oboe but much more then this it's a listening experience with the sound of the oboe leading the listener in a enchanting world of sounds, melodic lines and atmospheres under the guidance of a kind of magic created by the sound of Marika Lombardi.
