Candida Guida and the Ensemble Alraune presents "Il pazzo e la pazza", the two incredible madness scenes by Pietro Antonio Giramo, two monologues of a Man and a Woman, two fools of love. Around this two masterpieces a collection of cantatas about the Love Madness. A wonderful "the day after" the Combattimento of Tancredi and Clorinda by Girolamo Caresana: Tancredi after the death of Clorinda is thinking about what happened and about the destiny of the human liife. Cantatas by Fago and Alessandro Scarlatti about the different sides of the love and its effects on the human being, a wonderful unknown cantata by Antonio Farina and a bonus track of Francesco Provenzale. Candida Guida and Alraune are far away from the idea of a soft Seicento and interpretate this music from the theatrical side, physically, without fear of extreme dynamics and totally following the scores in their very precise notation of the affects trough the music.
