Johann Nepomuk Hummel's Serenatas op.63 and op.66 for the first time on period instruments
A new recording has just been completed and will soon be published by Novantiqua Records.
The Italian ensemble Touch the Sound, formed by the Savigni sisters Laura (fortepiano) and Enrica (XIX century guitar), Lycia Gialdi (clarinet), Elena Bianchi (bassoon) and Gian Andrea Guerra (violin) has just recorded the 2 Serenatas op.63 and op.66 by Johann Nepomuk Hummel, written in Vienna in 1814-15.
The music is rich in humor and virtuosity, with amusing quotations from famous works by Mozart, Cherubini and other composers of the time, and it's recorded for the first time on period instruments.
